Legal Assistance for Small Businesses and Nonprofits

If you are a small business or nonprofit with 50 or fewer employees, you can make an appointment for a free 60-minute legal consultation to discuss issues you may be facing a a result of COVID-19.  The consultations are being organized by Communities Rise and will take place via telephone or video conference.  The clinics are perfect to address topics surrounding:

  • General employment (furloughs, layoffs, etc.)

COVID-19 Benefits Town Hall – Thursday, May 7

On Thursday, May 7 from 10AM to 12:30PM (PST) speakers from the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), and Employment and Training Administration’s Office of Unemployment Insurance will provide information about changes and updates to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.  The content is aimed at both employers and employees.  This webinar is sponsored by WorkForceGPS.
