Filing Your Lawsuit in Federal Court: A Pro Se Guide

This manual is intended to assist an individual wishing to pursue a civil action in his/her own behalf (pro se) in the United States District Court, Western District of Washington.  The Manual includes forms, information about obtaining forms from the Court’s website, and some instructions on completing the forms.

Family Law Orientation Seminar (FLO)

The Family Law Orientation (FLO) seminar is designed for people who are not represented by an attorney  It provides information on court processes, court rules, and resources that may help you with your case.  According to Local Family Law Rule 20(b), all unrepresented parties to cases filed under Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 26.09 — which includes divorce, legal separations, and major parenting plan modifications — must attend this orientation within 30 days of filing or receipt of service.  All unrepresented parties to a case must attend the FLO.

E-Pro Se at the Federal District Court of Western Washington

“E-Pro Se is a user-friendly Web application that helps self represented (“pro se”) people prepare court documents and forms electronically. The program gathers information through simple questions and creates documents that may be filed with the court. Users have the ability to review, edit and save the completed documents before filing.

At this time, E-Pro Se can be used to create civil complaints.”
