Why Your Donation to the King County Law Library Matters:

Many people are not aware of this, but the King County Law Library is not a part of the King County government. County law libraries in Washington State are creatures of statute, under RCW 27.24, and the primary means of funding the Law Library is the receipt of a small portion of county court civil filing fees. Over the last decade, filing fees have dropped dramatically both in King County and nationwide.

The King County Law Library is a legal lifeline for thousands of King County residents. We assist with finding forms and resources for unmet legal needs. We provide access to legal materials and databases, along with research training and affordable CLEs.  We also teach an award-winning series of self-represented litigant workshops for civil and family law matters.

We depend on support from generous individuals like you to help fund our collections, access to legal materials and databases, classes and CLEs, and our legal aid clinic. Your gift helps sustain these vital services for all King County residents.
