September 13 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm PDT
We have reached capacity and registration is closed.

Law was critical to the establishment and growth of American slavery. Judges authored thousands of appellate opinions on the subject, yet the influence of these cases remains underappreciated.
Guest lecturer JUSTIN SIMARD will explain how the law of slavery was constructed, why modern American judges continue to rely on slave cases and principles derived from them, and how legal research tools and methods have led to this reliance on the law of slavery.
KCLL is very proud to offer this important topic β as well as free CLE credit for attendees β in conjunction with our partners at the Pierce County Law library, the Clark County Law Library and the Washington State Law Library.
