SUMMARY:Family Forms Drafting Lab (MORNING)
DESCRIPTION:Most TUESDAY mornings 9am – 11am (Seattle Library Only) \n\n\n\nCheck the Event Calendar for up-to-date listings. \n\n\n\nIf you have specific questions about family law forms that you have already begun filling out\, this Forms Lab will have an attorney who may be able to answer them for you. \n\n\n\nThere are many family Law court forms available – but it’s not always easy to understand or fill them out. KCLL is partnering with local attorneys and the King County Bar Association to offer guidance in our Family Law Forms Drafting Lab. \n\n\n\nThe attorney is not there to give you legal advice or tell you what you should do in your case. Rather\, they can help explain what some of the legal terminology means. For instance: “What is this question looking for?” What does this word mean?” \n\n\n\nPlease remember: \n\n\n\n\nYou MUST bring your own forms – and have begun filling them out\n\n\n\nHelp is provided on a first-come\, first-served basis (no pre-registration)\n\n\n\nThere are no interpreters available

SUMMARY:Talk Legally to Me Book Group
DESCRIPTION:Join us virtually at King County Law Library for a new\, exciting type of reading group. Our reading group will critically examine how fiction\, nonfiction\, science\, and the law intertwine. \n\n\n\nOur goal is to engage in meaningful conversations through theme book pairings\, examining how fiction and nonfiction works reflect each other and our world\, both historically and in current events. \n\n\n\nWe will start with a fiction book on a particular topic and follow up the next month with a nonfiction book on the same topic. During our nonfiction book discussion\, we will also pull in ideas and themes from the previous month’s fiction book to help us better understand how fiction pulls from the world in which it was created and provides commentary on it.
