Generative AI tools are popping up everywhere. While they can be helpful in a number of ways, you need to use them very carefully for legal issues.
Use these guidelines if you’re considering using generative AI for your legal documents. As always, it’s best to talk with an attorney first anytime you are handling a legal issue.
AI Guidelines
- Make sure you have read and understand CR 11 (Wash. St. Court Rules).
- Make sure all information AI provides is for the State/County your case is in.
- Always fact-check and verify anything AI gives you.
- You are responsible for making sure your court documents are correct, even if AI helped.
ALWAYS remember...
- AI is not a lawyer.
- AI may give wrong answers.
- AI may give advice that does not fit your case.
- Do not provide AI with any personal or private information.
